WHERE ARE YOU BASED?
I’m based in the city I was born and raised in, good ol’ San Antonio, TX!
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN SHOOTING?
I picked up a camera in February 2010. I began shooting weddings on the side towards the end of 2010. In August 2012, I went full-time as a photographer.
WHAT TYPES OF PHOTOGRAPHY DO YOU OFFER?
I offer a range of photography services other than just weddings. I also do: elopements, portraits, engagements, boudoir, couple's boudoir, maternity, families, and small events. I do not offer product, commercial, or real estate photography.
DO YOU OFFER VIDEO?
I do not. It's only me and I don't know videography. However, check out my recommended vendors list for the videographers I recommend.
WHAT IS YOUR TURNAROUND TIME?
Faster than you probably think. 6-12 weeks for weddings. 1-3 weeks for sessions. Those are my guaranteed times, but it's usually sooner.
DO YOU EDIT THE PHOTOS?
Absolutely. I edit every photo to ensure my signature style is consistent. I keep editing simple with minor color tweaks, contrast, and sharpening. You'll receive a mixture of color and black and white photos. I do not Photoshop anyone. I will, however, get rid of anything that will be gone in 3 weeks (like bruises, pimples, etc).
HOW MANY PHOTOS DO YOU INCLUDE?
I don't believe in holding back on the amount to deliver to you. For sessions, I usually deliver between 50-100 photos. For weddings, it all depends on the number of hours I've been hired for and the amount of action going on. I usually deliver about 400+ images for a 6-8 hour wedding.
WILL WE RECEIVE DIGITAL FILES?
Absolutely. Digital files can be downloaded from your online gallery in full resolution without watermarks.
CAN WE PRINT PHOTOS OURSELVES?
Absolutely. You'll receive high-resolution digital files and a print release. You’ll be able to print where ever you’d like.
DO YOU OFFER PRINTS?
Absolutely. There's a built-in print store in your gallery from professional labs I trust. You can order prints, albums, and even greeting cards. When you order through your gallery, you’re continuing to support my business. And I appreciate that!
WHO HAS THE COPYRIGHT?
I hold the copyright, but they’re your photos. You still have permission to print them and share them on social media, your website, etc. All I ask is to not sell the photos to companies for advertising, etc.
DO YOU TRAVEL? IF SO, HOW MUCH ARE YOUR TRAVEL FEES?
Absolutely. I do not charge fees for weddings and sessions within 100 miles of San Antonio, TX. Anywhere else that’s more than 100 miles of San Antonio but in Texas is a flat fee of $500. Anywhere within the continental US is a flat fee of $1200.
DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE?
Absolutely. For both my camera gear and liability on location. I can provide proof if your venue requires it.
DO YOU USE BACK UPS?
Absolutely. I bring back up cameras, lenses, and memory cards. I back up images to multiple hard drives immediately after sessions and weddings. I even offer a cloud backup of your gallery and delivered images for just $60 per year. That’s just $5 a month for peace of mind knowing you’ll always have your files.
CAN YOU HOLD A DATE FOR US?
Unfortunately, I can not until you’ve paid your retainer and signed a contract. Once I’ve got those two things, you’re locked in for the entire day no matter how many hours you’ve hired me for.
WILL YOU ATTEND OUR REHEARSAL OR VENUE-WALK-THROUGH?
Absolutely. And at no extra charge! Rehearsals are dependent upon my availability that day, but venue-walk-throughs are often more flexible.
DO YOU HAVE A SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER?
I do not. I photograph 98% of weddings by myself and feel totally confident doing so. However, if either I feel I’ll need one or you’d like another photographer, I can make that happen.
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU CAN'T MAKE IT TO OUR WEDDING?
If something happens that's out of my control and I'm unable to make it, I'll do my absolute best to find you a replacement photographer. If I'm unable to find a replacement or you don't like the photographer I found for you, I'll refund your money in full.
DO YOU DO GROUP PHOTOS?
Absolutely. To keep stress levels down on your wedding day, I’ll send you a questionnaire a few weeks prior. I will have your list the day of so that we don’t forget anyone. I always ask to keep them to a minimum so that the timeline continues to run smoothly and so you can have fun.
WHAT IF WE NEED MORE HOURS LATER?
My recommendation is to book what you know you’ll need. You can always add on more time later at the current hourly rate.
CAN I SEE A FULL GALLERY OF A WEDDING?
Absolutely! This is super important when finding a photographer. While searching for a photographer, make sure you see their full body of work. You can view current public galleries that are online by clicking here. Just create an account and you’re good to go.
I LOVE THAT YOU CUSS, BUT MY FAMILY MIGHT NOT DIG THAT.
Haha. No worries, I get that. I do cuss throughout my website and when talking with my couples because I want to be myself. However, I still don’t cuss around my parents. Lol. So yeah, I won’t be dropping ‘f’ bombs around your parents.
WE'RE AWKWARD IN FRONT OF A CAMERA, IS THAT OKAY?
Everyone is awkward at first. As long as you're open to getting to know me and willing to put your trust in me, you'll be fine. Read reviews online. My couples mention how comfortable they felt.
WILL YOU HELP US FIND A LOCATION?
Absolutely. I’ll sit down with ya’ll and help you think up a place that’s meaningful to you both first and foremost. I don’t want to shoot at a location just because it makes for pretty photos. I want it to be meaningful. If you can’t think up a location during our chat, I’ll throw out suggestions.
WHAT DO WE WEAR?
Wear something casual that you not only look good in, but feel good in. Try to fit the vibe of the location. For example, you wouldn’t wear a tux to go hiking. I recommend staying away from shirts with logos. I can also help you choose what to wear. It’s usually the dudes that need help with that. Haha.
WHEN DO YOU DO ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS?
Couples usually schedule them a few weeks after booking their wedding. I’ll shoot any day of the week, including weekends, as long as it’s not months in advance. Sessions are scheduled 2 hours before sunset.
WHERE WILL MY PHOTO SESSION TAKE PLACE? DO YOU HAVE A STUDIO?
Unfortunately, I do not have a studio. I usually recommend shooting in your home, at an AirBnB, hotel, or outdoor spot where it’s okay to be nude or almost nude.
WHO IS AT THE SHOOT WITH ME?
If you’re doing a couple’s boudoir session, it’ll just be us three. More than that might be weird. Lol. If you're a woman, I can bring my wife along. You can also bring your BFF for moral support as long as they’re not distracting for you or me.
WHAT SHOULD I/WE WEAR?
Whatever you feel beautiful in. For the ladies, this could be a your favorite lingerie, a bodysuit, an oversized sweater, a robe, etc. For the dudes, I usually recommend underwear without a logo on the waistband. You can also do a nude set during the session.
DO I/WE HAVE TO GET NAKED?
No. Of course not. I will never push you to do something you are not comfortable with. I will be respectful of your comfortability levels and what you feel sexy in. Whether it’s a shirt and lingerie or you in the nude.
WILL YOU USE MY IMAGES ON YOUR WEBSITE/BLOG/PORTFOLIO?
I will ONLY share your images if you tell me I can (and sign an image release agreement). Privacy is super important to me. Just let me know you would rather not have photos shared or any specifics that make you comfortable. Some people want their images completely private and others are comfortable with me posting and not tagging them on social media. Others are all about sharing and showing off their photos. It’s up to you and your comfort level.
WHAT ABOUT HAIR AND MAKE UP?
Some people like to do their own makeup, some want a professional to do it, and some don’t want hair or makeup done. If you are wanting a professional hair and make up artist, I have a team that I highly recommend.
CAN WE MEET BEFORE BOOKING?
Absolutely. Meetings are a fun, no-pressure way to get the customized info you need without back and forth emails that waste your time. There is no obligation to book during our meeting. I want you to feel like I'm the right photographer for you before booking.
CAN YOU WORK WITH OUR BUDGET?
Absolutely. Everyone deserves amazing photos. My packages can be customized. I will always do what I can for people that love me and my work. I also offer payment plans to make things easier.
WHAT'S REQUIRED TO BOOK?
For sessions, a $125 retainer and a signed contract. Your remaining balance is due 1 week before your session. For weddings, a $500 retainer and a signed contract is all it takes to reserve your date. Your remaining balance is due 30 days before your wedding. You can make monthly payments up until the 30 days if that’s easier for you.
HOW SOON SHOULD WE BOOK?
Busy wedding season for me March - April, and September-December. So if your wedding lands on one of those months, inquire ASAP to see if I’m available your date. Overall, I keep things chill and laid back so that you’re not pressured. I keep track of dates people inquire about. If we’ve already met but another couple inquires about the same date, I will reach out to you first to find out if you want to lock in your date.
WHAT’S THE BOOKING PROCESS?
First, we’ll meet. We’ll get to know each over a beer and then I’ll get all your questions answered. I don’t pressure anyone to book on the spot. I’ll give you some time to think about it or meet with other photographers. I’ll then check in on you in about a week if I haven’t back from you.
HOW DO WE BOOK?
Everything is online. You can digitally sign your contract and pay online. Super easy. You’ll also have access to your contract and invoices through a client portal. Contact me to set up a free consultation to get started!
